I am just wondering if things can be passed from cat to human? My new kitten is sick
she has diarrhea and is on drops to settle her tummy from the vet, and on a chicken and rice diet for the next 5 days as he said this is easy on her tummy. It is so awful seeing her sick, I just got her on the weekend
I have been cleaning up after her, I have been very careful and washing my hands every time but it wouldn’t be hard to catch something as I have been around it for 2 days now. Anyway today I have been feeling upset in the tummy and had some diarrhea myself, is it possible that I have caught something? I will ask the vet when I go back tomorrow but just wanted to know if it can happen? Is this sympathy sickness, coincidence, or is it possible? I have been up for 2 nights and am exhausted, upset and stressed over my poor little baby so that might be why I am run down.
Hi all, thanks so much for all your answers!!!! Just to let you know, Isis is doing much better! She is eating all her chicken and rice I cook her (she eats it like she is the most deprived starving cat in the world lol) and the diarrhea is not completely all gone, but much better! As for me, I am back to normal, I finally got some sleep and am glowing because I’m so happy to be a proud cat owner!!!!!!

We have had this cat for 2 years about a year ago we got another kitten. About 3 months later our older cat starting pooping outside of the litter box. We took her to the vet and we found out she had a urinary track infection. She was on medicine and stopped for about a month. Since then we have changed her food and she is still doing it. The crazy thing is that she only does it in one spot in the dining room. She doesnt do it any where else. She is fixed. We have 2 litter boxes. The vet says that it could be because we got the new cat. The problem with this is she treats the other cat like her own. They play, she cleans him, they lay on each other.
She is even getting so bold as to do it right in front of us. We are moving to a new house and dont want her to continue in the new house. Anyone have any suggestions?
She still goes in the litter box but will also do this in the dining room. We have tried expensive sprays, plug ins that are supposed to help with the cats mood and change the smell. I am not going to take it to a kill shelter.

My cat had ear mites, and my vet said to give our Beagle the medication as well as a preventative measure. Four days into the treatment, she started tilting her head and falling over. She’s had ear infections before, so I chalked it up to too much fluid in the ear from the drops, so we stopped them (since she didn’t have mites to begin with). A couple days later, she vomited several times, slept a lot, wouldn’t eat – I was going to call the vet, but then suddenly, she semed fine and started eating. I noticed, though, that she would look at you with her head cocked to one side. I thought her equilibrium was off, but I decided I was taking her to the vet tomorrow (Mon.) Tonight, though I started realizing she can’t see out of her left eye. I held my head over her left eye and she would squint if I put my finger near her eye – not so when testing the other side. I just hope this isn’t permanent – why oh why didn’t I notice that sooner!! Tomorrow..the vet…

We’ve had her since november, so she’s familiar with our apartment and has always been a very daring/brave kitty. As soon as i we put our window unit it, she sniffed it and was fine. but once we turned it on, she went right under the bed and has been there for over a day. we tried getting her out and showing her the ac, but she just freaks. we tried treats, toys, playing with her..but nothing seems to be working. What should we do?!

See, I have this terrible cough and I really don’t want to make her sick. What can I do to help prevent her from being sick. (I hope this makes sense.) Thanks!

My girlfriend was scrubbing the dirty litter box in water ,when she finished she realized the rubber glove she was wearing ripped,so that dirty water was soaking into her scrape, she washed her hand very good after she finished,is there anything really dangerous that could happen to her?
