CAT BREEDS from A to Z

My kitten is 7 months old and this is the first kitten I’ve ever owned. Anyway, this little guy is the most playful, active, and curious ball of fur that I’ve ever seen – from playing chase with me, to drinking water out of the sink and the shower, to jumping inside of the cabinet and up inside the cabinet drawers (just like a magic trick) that he never ceases to amaze me. Anyway, I’d like to hear some of the funny things that you’re kitten or cat does. Thanks!

Need help with my siberian cat?

By admin · Comments (4)

Yesterday I got a siberian cat and it’s constantly laying under my bed.
It does eat and all. But it doesn’t wanna play and looks sad. I do think it’s because it is missing his parents and stuff. Shall I just let it lay there and wait till it decides to come and play? Or shall I try to make him happier?

Thanks.
Ah ok, thanks a lot guys :D

My cat is six years old and three years ago he got a urinary track infection and then he got one last month now it looks like he is getting another. I can not afford to take him back to the vet. Also he is a indoor cat. Is there anything I can give him so he will get well without taking him to the vet? Thank you

I’ve realized why my stupid cat is nipping and biting me, he’s developed a taste for the salts in my perspiration. Which is why he likes to lick my fingers and arms. And why I find him in the laundry hamper all of the time licking my workout sweats.

He’s not licking me coz he loves me, he’s only licking me to get the salt that he craves.

If they are short haired, how are they different from a tabby?
In the past I have had a beautiful maine coon and now have a sweet multi-color torti. Just curious.
Kittyluv – Thanks for the informative website. It answers a lot of questions.

My boyfriend and myself live in a one bedroom tenement flat in Edinburgh. It’s an old traditional building and while it’s not tiny, it’s not huge either. We have a small, two year old castrated male British Shorthair cat called Lucifer and we’re considering the possibility of getting another kitten. We’ve decided we love Maine Coon Cats and would like to get one of them, however I’m concerned about how much space 2 cats would need (Lucifer is 100% indoor cat and the new cat would be also). Is it unfair to keep two cats in a one-bedroom apartment, especially one as big as a Maine Coon Cat? For the first four weeks of getting the kitten, we’d probably make the bathroom his ’safe-room’ while scent introductions are happening, and to keep the kitten safe if we are out until the two cats can tolerate one another. However if people’s advice is not to keep two cats in a one-bedroom flat then we will wait until we move. Do you have any stories yourself about having 2 cats, and having to introduce a kitten to another cat? Do you have 2 litter trays, and where do you keep them? I’d like to hear all stories and advice, thanks!

Please refer to my previous question for more details:

One thing I didnt mention is that when I took him to the vet he said he was really anemic and that his blood was super thin. If it was just the vaccine, would it do that to him? Lots of people said I should wait to see if he gets any better and I will, if there is any hope. I just dont want to see him die a horrible painful death. Once he gets to that stage I might not be able to put him to sleep because emergency vets are much more expensive than when you make an appointment, and we dont have much money.

Any help would be great. I know they are not really considered the breed unless they have paperwork, but I just want to know what they could be. My second one, I’m told seems to be most like a Korat. Thanks!!

Watching your cat in distress to breathe is so scary. My cat has had asthma for over two years with bad lungs to begin with. How well does everyone’s cat handle an inhaler? My boy cat does very well with it but I am curious how other cats handle it.
I am a veterinary tech and I have gone to the vet a lot as you can see. My cat is on steriods to keep his lungs open and Flovent inhaler twice a day. I bring him to work every few months for chest x-rays, etc. The reason for asking this questions was to how how many loving cat owners out there has an asthmatic cat and what drugs they are on.

Saturnine the Bombay kitten purloins something small enough to fit in his mouth and heads for the hills. Last week he pilfered the lid to my teapot and a CD, complete with slip case. I keep telling him that crime doesn’t pay, but it just goes in one ear and right out the other.
